We spent over 30 years fishing and camping in and around Alberta at many different lakes and rivers before we picked the Wabamun Lake area as our favorite choice. Brian has been a fishing guide since 2008 & now owns his own Guiding Business. We moved to a beautiful piece of property on Wabamun Lake in 2013 and we are looking forward to sharing our knowledge and passion of fishing Wabamun Lake with some great history. Both of us love to teach and share our successes fishing this great lake to all of our Customers and get to know many people from this great country and beyond.

Fishing Rates
#1 - Must have a valid Alberta Fishing License
What to bring suggestions- Weather related clothing, Sunscreen, Bug repellent, Sunglasses & a Camera.
#2- Your trip time does not begin until the first hook hits the water.
8 Hour Trip- $695.00 up to 4 people.
4 Hour Trip - $400.00 up to 4 people.
2 Hour Trip - $250.00 up to 4 people.
Single person rate - call for details
$100.00 Deposit (non refundable) some conditions may apply.
We reserve the right to postpone when severe weather conditions occur with no loss of deposit.

Five stars across the board. Brian and Jean were great hosts with lots of knowledge of the lake and surrounding area. We met at their beautiful home that backs onto some crown land and the lake, got geared up and took a short walk to the dock. As we walked through the small trail, Jean pointed out wild raspberries that we were able to snack on (they were sooo fresh!). From there we jumped on the boat and headed off to some secret spots that Brian has found over his many years living on the lake. We caught a ton of walleye (between three of us we pulled up almost 100 fish in 4 hours). Then at the end, we were invited the spend the afternoon in their gorgeous backyard. It was much more than your average fishing experience! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Brian & Jean were terrific hosts both on and off the boat. Neither my husband nor I had spent a day fishing since our youth and I don’t think we could have possibly picked a better way to get our ‘hooks back in the water’. They were very professional, had endless patience re-teaching us how to fish and they knew all the best fishing spots. Thank you for the fantastic experience!

Who knew? A very short drive out of Edmonton and we were in “Pike Country”. Wabamun Lake has a pike population keeps you reeling ‘em in all day long. Brian’s knowledge of the lake allowed us to move to different hot spots when the catch cooled in a given area. Jean’s sense of humor keeps you entertained the entire time you may be around her. Together, Brian & Jean understand the word hospitality… they do everything you would expect and more to make your fishing trip a blast.

The day was cloudy, windy & a bit chilly. You would never know it by the warmth & generosity that we received from Brian & Jean. It's been years since we fished & Brian was so patient, even though I'm sure he wanted to throw me overboard!! We had such a great time, the fish were biting, got some great pictures & so many laughs at our own expense. After we were able to sit by the fire, BBQ some burgers & just enjoy ourselves!! This is the perfect spot to enjoy & feel so incredibly welcome from the moment you arrive to the minute you leave. Today, my boyfriend and I had the pleasure of meeting Brian & Jean, with Fish Rule Custom Adventures, and experienced the greatest guided fishing trip on Wabamun Lake. Brian was knowledgeable, helpful and safety conscientious. His boat and fishing gear were immaculate and top quality, and his familiarity with Wabamun Lake took us to the best fishing spots the lake can offer. Unlike other tours, Fish Rule Custom Adventures was not rushed or over priced. We were taken on a tour of the lake, including Moonlight Bay, and treated like family. Best time I have ever had fishing – non-stop action!
Brian and Jean were great hosts – this would be a great trip for the beginner or experienced fisherman as they are very
accommodating to whatever skill level is on the boat. My girlfriend had never been fishing before and enjoyed herself beyond
belief. The BBQ after was just as enjoyable. We will be going back.

We started on rough water. Brian’s boat skill and focus on safety moved us around the lake in comfort. Rob captained a second boat with the same expertise. Even the most inexperienced would have confidence in the way Brian and Rob handle the waves.
Fortunately, the waters calmed and fishing began. Again, Brian and Jean’s knowledge of where to drop anchor aided in our catching & catching & catching of walleye. The action was non-stop.
Perfect timing, the sun came through the clouds as we relaxed afterwards in the Lindsay’s phenomenal yard. The BBQ and fire pit were warmed up and the fish stories began to flow. It was an opportunity to entertain clients. It is one of many chances where clients become lifelong friends. Do it again? Absolutely, I know the perfect outfitter... Fish Rules!

We had an amazing day with Brian and Jean from Fish Rule Custom Adventures. They were extremely welcoming and kind when we arrived in the morning, offering us coffee, snacks, and making sure my 3-year-old son was comfortable and well fed. Brian led us out on the water for a beautiful afternoon catching Walleye, and after taking us to one of his preferred spots we were catching fish within minutes. He was extremely knowledgeable and charismatic, and his love of the lake and the area was evident. I had no concerns for the safety of my young son as Brian and Jean were both very committed to water safety, as well as taking all necessary precautions for COVID-19. Their home and property is beautiful, with ample space for groups to congregate before and after the adventure. Highly recommended!

Hey everyone its Brian & Jean here at Fishrule Custom Adventures. We are already booking trips for June and July with a few people looking at August. We offer a great trip with lots of extras and we have become know as the guiding company that fishes the entire lake that also gives everyone a chance to see all shores.
